چکیده

HONIG, CARL R., JAMES L. FRIERSON, AND JOHN L. PATTERSON. Comparison of neural controls of resistance and capillary density in resting muscle. Am. J. Physiol. 218(4) : 937-942. 1970.-The number of open capillaries was measured by direct enumeration in resting rat gracilis muscle in situ and found to be unchanged by acute denervation. When correlated with changes in resistance, results indicate that vasoconstrictor nerves influence arterioles, but not precapillary sphincters, in resting skeletal muscle. Counter-current blood flow was identified in some closely spaced capillaries both before and after denervation. Discussion considers the interplay between neural and local controls of arterioles and precapillary sphincters, and the possible impact of arrangement and number of open capillaries on the diffusional component of transport.

Impact of Aerobic Exercise on Restoration of Soleus and Gastrocnemius Muscles Microcirculations in Wistar Rats with Chronic Heart Failure

ABSTRACT         Background and Objective: Scientific evidence reveals that the density of skeletal muscle microcirculations decreases in the patients with chronic heart failure. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the impact of submaximal aerobic exercise training on restoration of fast/slow-twitch muscle fibers microcirculation in rats with myocard...

Prediction of Time of Capillary Rise in Porous Media Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was used to analyse the capillary rise in porous media. Wetting experiments were performed with fifteen liquids and fifteen different powders. The liquids covered a wide range  of  surface  tension ( 15.45-71.99  mJ/m2 )  and  viscosity (0.25-21 mPa.s). The powders also provided an acceptable range of particle size (0.012-45 μm) and surface free...

Determination of Surface Tension and Viscosity of Liquids by the Aid of the Capillary Rise Procedure Using Artificial Neural Network (ANN)

The present investigation entails a procedure by which the surface tension and viscosity of liquids could be redicted. To this end, capillary experiments were performed for porous media by utilizing fifteen different liquids and powders. The time of capillary rise to a certain known height of each liquid in a particular powder was recorded. Two artificial neural networks (ANNs) were...

Extracting Material Information from the CT Numbers by Artificial Neural Networks for Use in the Monte Carlo Simulations of Different Tissue Types in Brachytherapy

Background: The artificial neural networks (ANNs) are useful in solving nonlinear processes, without the need for mathematical models of the parameters. Since the relationship between the CT numbers and material compositions is not linear, ANN can be used for obtaining tissue density and composition. Objective: The aim of this study is to utilize ANN for determination of the composition and mass...

Free Vibrations of Three-Parameter Functionally Graded Plates Resting on Pasternak Foundations

In this research work, first, based on the three-dimensional elasticity theory and by means of the Generalized Differential Quadrature Method (GDQM), free vibration characteristics of functionally graded (FG) rectangular plates resting on Pasternak foundation are focused. The two-constituent functionally graded plate consists of ceramic and metal grading through the thickness. A three-parameter...
